Realistic graphite portrait of Willem Dafoe

Realistic graphite and charcoal portrait of actor Willem Dafoe.

After many exercises, I finally decided to make a video of my latest graphite work. The complexity of this actor’s face, with its wrinkles, pores and hair, was a challenge but I think I achieved such a good result that I can almost call it a ‘hyper-realistic portrait’.

Materials used:
Paper: CANSON “The Wall” 70×50 cm;
STAEDTLER graphite pencils: HB – B – 4B – 7B – 9B;
Graphite KOH-I-NOOR black: 3B;
Charcoal: CONTÈ A PARIS;
Charcoal powder: CRETACOLOR;
Erasers: TOMBOW MONO ZERO, KOH-I-NOOR HARDMUTH “era 6312”;
Putty rubber STAEDTLER;
Make-up brushes;
Paper handkerchief.
